the room was a little small and when we initially arrived and the first night the whole bathroom and bedroom really smelt of sewage - so much so that i couldnt sleep initially on the first night until i had got up and sprayed some perfume around the bedroom breakfast was lovely the staff were really helpful and friendly we had dinner on the first night which again was lovely and very reasonable over all our stay was lgood just the sewage smell that was an issue on the first night

The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. We were assigned an accessible room which happened to have a wonderful sea view. There was an excellent array of breakfast options. I particularly enjoyed the variety of fruit, but my husband was very happy with the cooked breakfast. We also enjoyed the experience of dining in Leo's one evening. Good food, service and a wonderful view.

The grab rail in the bathroom and the bed were lower than we would have expected. My husband managed, but we thought transfer would have been difficult for a wheelchair user.

Wonderful location in the heart of the Highlands. A great central location to get to a lot of different places. Lucy and Dan were great hosts who made us feel very welcome. They provided a lot of great information on the local sites. Breakfast was homemade and exceptional!

The lodge was a lot bigger than expected (stayed in 2 bedroom) with brilliant upstairs space for socialising and also had a good double sofa bed. Brilliant view from balcony and bathroom/bedrooms in good condition. A lovely stay!

The kitchen could be better facilitated (no cafettiere/coffee press, not enough glasses if 6 adults staying). There's also a £10 per day charge for using the swimming pool and slots are limited to 2 hours and must be booked in advance, which was disappointing as this isn't made clear on the profile (booked October 2023) and adds to the cost of the stay.

It was a peaceful oasis from the bustling streets of York - 10 minute walk from most places of interest - not right in the middle but also easy to access to the station. Garden was beautiful and impeccably maintained

Our rooms were in what felt like a modern extension which has its pros and cons - rooms very modern and our rooms looked out onto a not very inspiring, unpretty car park and road but it was very quiet at least and not too much of an issue - the old building does make you think it will like that throughout but it isn’t.

Greeted by friendly young girl who helped locate our apartment in the rabbit warren that is Friars Wynd. Very central location, clean comfortable bed.

Booked apartment rather than hotel so as to self cater. Attempted to cook simple meal, only to find no cooking utensils ( tongs, spatula etc), no dish cloth or tea towel. Opened oven, found tray full of stinky, rancid meat fat. Shut door of oven quickly, but smell lingered. Tea and coffee provided, but no kettle!!

Poor maintenance. AC filters need cleaning. They are a mat of dust with little air moving. Shower temp adjustment broken. Aren't these checked, reported, and fixed?

The one poor thing was the noise from out side drinking area which was loud and continued up to mid night. Difficult to get to sleep as the windows were really single glazed - same for 3 nights and could not change rooms.
