The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Breakfast was excellent; interesting that it was at a different location, another lovely pub just down the hill. Dinner at the Bull’s Head was great, chips fantastic (real potatoes, not frozen). Friendly informal surroundings in cosy rooms on the main floor of the pub; bedroom was a good size with a very comfortable king-sized bed with immaculate coverings. The staff were fabulous, everyone so incredibly friendly and welcoming in ways we hadn’t experienced before in the south of the country, which seems much more formal. We loved the location across from the churchyard. It was very peaceful, lots of birdsong. Bit difficult to find at first, but some friendly local folk helped us find our way. Glossop seems like a really lovely community.

There was nothing we didn’t like about our visit to Glossop and the Bull’s Head. If we ever come back this way, The Bull’s Head is where we will stay.

The property management people is completely unprofessional. Please think twice before you make booking as they are unresponsive if you try contacting them. My experience has been disastrous with them
Negative section of review
Completely unprofessional and bad experience. They make a living by charging you for service that were never offered. Pls avoid them.

Excellent room. Great shower. Quiet (although there weren't any wedding receptions, which I understand can be noisey)

The bathroom facilities had a lot left to be desired, quite grimy with very weak flow from the shower.

Shabby, poorly repaired damage to living room walls. Very cold upon arrival. Electric heaters were effective but took an hour to warm the house up. We arrived at night so this wasn’t ideal. Broken tap in kitchen. Shower controls on the wrong way around resulting in a cold shower until we realised. Washing machine was switched off but burst into life one morning. we never used it but it performed a rinse cycle despite all settings set to ‘off’. Electrical issue? Floor between kitchen and bathroom was gaffer taped down. The floor was defective and a trip hazard.

Im not normally one to give negative reviews but everything about this experience was awful and caused so much stress. It’s honestly the worst experience I have ever had on booking com or any stay away for that matter and I’d recommend being wary. I have also tried to reach out to the owner to reach a conclusion to this complaint but was met with rudeness, accusation and a ‘£25 gesture of good will’ as he refused to give me any sort of a refund. We never got any check-in information from the owners until after we’d arrived (my initial messages went unanswered as I was beginning to panic at the lack of check in details), we spent ages driving round the caravan site having no clue where our caravan was so trying to find it was an absolute nightmare and the reception, whilst very helpful, couldn’t do anything for us as it was a private booking from booking com. We rang the owners and they picked up with the second phone number provided and they said they hadn’t been informed that we had even booked. We couldn’t get our car logged into the system to let us into the site but the owner amended this and added our details after we managed to get in. We found the caravan but had no key or information so after going back to reception with details of the caravan, we rang the owner again and finally got in. What a stressful start! After we got in - There were stains on the bedding with an unpleasant musty smell in the bedrooms. I’m not sure if the caravan was cleaned before we arrived, the dishes needed rewashing and the beds were unhygienic and unable to be slept in. We had to strip the beddings and wash it ourselves and pay the laundrette (£7.50 for use of on site laundry) after sleeping on the sofa for the first night. It was a very stressful start to what should have been a relaxing getaway. The next bout of stress came when we tried to make a polite complaint and ask for some sort of refund as we did not get the service we paid for.
