This is a very small property managed by the host who is friendly and helpful. We had the 'superior' room and it was superlative! There is a small lounge and a roof terrace (but requires a bit of agility to access). The WiFi was consistently reliable. Breakfast was very good. The property is within the historic part of Rye, but has very good access to public transport being a short walk from the bus & train station.

There were only roof-lights in the room and no apparent way of increasing the ventilation - but that's a very minor niggle.

Absolutely amazing venue. Very lucky to have great weather and be able to spend a lot of time outdoors. We arrived and there was a few guys from the hotel doing a bbq.. they came over with a few bits to try and gave us a free beer out of their ice box!

We had a table at L'Enclume in the evening which is usually about a 10 minute taxi ride. However there are very few taxis and 0 buses running on a Saturday night. We managed to get a taxi in the end after a lot of messing about for around £10. This is in no way a negative of the hotel but just a heads up if you plan to make your way into Carmel!

Was provided with a mat to put our muddy boots on which was very thoughtful. The breakfast was satisfying. There was a good pub only 200 yds from the house.
