The location was very central, got a free upgrade on arrival which was a nice touch after hours of delays for trains. Staff were so helpful, approachable and happy. Bed was super comfy. Beautiful view of the town at night. No noise from other rooms. Bar open until 2am would stay again every time

Lovely historical building, peaceful country location. Staff were lovely, very helpful Comfortable bed, fabulous bathroom (bath and separate shower cubicle) Everything very clean and room well serviced. Good breakfast menu. Had one evening meal which was excellently cooked and presented.

We were in what was described as a Junior Suite with a seating area. Very disappointed to discover the 'seating area was a small dining table and 2 dining chairs instead of a couch or easy chairs. Even most double rooms elsewhere have a couple of comfy bucket chairs. We were on the ground floor with 2 large windows and french doors. One window faced directly onto the car park, the other window and french doors faced a communual pathway plus a grass area where people were encouraged to cross to access river walks. With no blinds/screening of any kind we were forced to keep the curtains closed much of the time to get a little privacy from nosy people looking right in the room as they walked past. Although the evening meal we had was lovely, the prices were eyewatering and the menu very restricted so we ate elsewhere the other 2 evenings.

Sue & Leigh were excellent hosts, i enjoyed my stay very much, breakfast well laid out, nice comfy bed, room very very clean, had also a parking space around the back of the hotel, will return soon 10 out of 10 for me.

nothing bothered me at all i enjoyed my stay, nice bathroom clean n tidy with shower gels etc, only one small thing was the bathroom sink was a bit small, when washing a lot of water goes on the floor.

Room was beautiful, we were taken to our room and as we entered the lighting was set and classical music.was playing. Bed was so comfortable and linen was exceptional quality.

Two flights of stairs with a suitcase was difficult for me with a bad back and legs. Couldn't use the shower because it meant stepping into the bath, which I have difficulty with. Very warm room.
