The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

On the outside, it does look like a pub, which it clearly is. Going up the external stairs, which are metal, it also doesn’t look great, and retails the feeling of trepidation. However, once I got to the room, it was excellent. It was clean, comfortable, tidy, and had everything a traveller needed. Even the attention to detail for a light breakfast had been included, with fresh milk and coffee. On the whole, it was EXCELLENT.

The stairs - could be slippery in wet weather as is outside.

Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. The communal areas in the hotel have character and are beautiful. Great location within walking distance of the centre. We were able to leave the card there all day after checking out while we spent time in the town.

I didn't find this place to be value for money. I know you're probably paying more because of the spa facilities but if like us you're only staying one night and don't get to use the spa, the hotel isn't really value for money. We stayed in one of the modern rooms but the furniture was a bit tired. The bathroom door didn't close. There was no working extractor fan - you could open the window but it allowed people to see in. Thought it was a bit cheeky to charge for parking as this is free at most hotels. The cooked breakfast was terrible and not worth the money. We had originally decided not to have breakfast but changed our minds after checking in so asked to add it, thinking it would be around £10 each - it was £18 each! I thought that at least for that price the cooked breakfast was bound to be a good, freshly cooked breakfast. There was a continental buffet available and the hot food was a buffet as well unless you wanted a vegetarian/vegan cooked breakfast. There were sausages, smoked bacon (I dislike smoked bacon - surely every decent hotel knows not to serve smoked bacon unless you're also providing unsmoked as not everyone likes it), black pudding, mushrooms, eggs (one type, no scrambled), potato pancakes, beans. No tomatoes. The sausages and mushrooms were wrinkly as though they'd been sitting there a long time. When I got the food back to my table it wasn't even warm - so I effectively paid £18 for a cold cooked breakfast which had been sitting there for a long time and tasted just average. In fact I would have preferred to have had something like smoked salmon or avocado on toast or eggs Benedict/Royale straight from the kitchen but if you wanted this instead of the buffet breakfast (there's no way I could have eaten both) you had to pay an extra £5 - so if, like me, you prefer to have this option instead of any of the buffet options, you'd have to pay £23 for it!

It was local to everything. On the weekend it was loud because of entertainment but bearable and the hosts where nice on the phone for sorting us another caravan in time.

A day before we were suppose to go, we got told there was a problem with the caravan so they moved us to another one on a different sight, it turned out good because of it was right next to the beach and it was near everything, so we didn’t need to use a our car. We found two old fag nubs in the cuboard and they wanted us to clean/ take the bins out before we left. But left us no cleaning products, bin bags or toilet roll to do it with. There was a charge for bedding and towels, so had to bring our own bedding and towels and buy our own cleaning equipment. The site was very muddy and there was no mop there either so I had to get on my hands and knees to wipe down the floor before I left to make sure it was clean. There was also a massive yellow bin for our view. But on the plus side we were near to igoldmells market and it was a fun holiday. The Mattress wasn’t comfy and there was no coat hangers to hang any clothes up with but I think that’s due to them changing our caravan.

Location was fantastic and breakfast was great. Rooms were a bit wonky, but that's to be expected from a building this old. Kind of adds to its charm.

The TV didn't really work properly, most likely due to a bad internet connection.

Great location, next to restaurants, pubs and distillery.

Staff, receptionist not interested, no manners. Cleaners disrespectful to the guests, having loud conversations for half an hour early in the morning by the room door disrupting our sleep.
