We received a very warm welcome from Ray who was very accommodating. We had use of garage to store our bikes and plenty of information about where to eat. The breakfasts were delicious. We were staying with friends and it was great to have use of our own sitting room. Specific requests of ours eg gluten free choices provided plus a lighter weight duvet both fully catered for.

The location was good. Not too far from the centre, and it's quiet and peaceful. The room was spacious and good for the price. The breakfast goodies are also a bonus.

Parking arrangement - we understood that there were only 2 spaces and using the local car park wasn't an issue However, it would have been nice to have been allowed to off load our luggage and ensure our small children were dropped off before being reminded by an adjoining neighbour to 'move our car'! Not the best of 'Welcomes'. Spaces should be marked more clearly and we should surely have the opportunity to off load! The property is an old cottage, but even taking that into account the floors are very creeky - the bare wooden floorboard didn't help. Last point, after booking this property I have received a total of 14 emails and a text message sent at 7.30am on our last day to remind us to 'vacate the property at 10am '- I consider this to be an excessive (nagging) amount of communications and certainly didn't appreciate the early morning text message on a day we were meant to be enjoying a relaxing long weekend :(

Couldn't get access on arrival, neither could other paying guests with keycard, Keycard swipe not allowing access. Pressed the doorbell numerous times to be ignored, stood outside for a long time waiting for another guest to exit. Told the staff member at check-in who casually said, yes they had locked the door for security, no apology for the inconvenience and appeared like he was going to continue ignoring the buzzer and not let people in. We then only had 20 minutes to get turned around for our evening plans.

In the middle of being updated, so Some things were not open, ie Hortons Bar. Not enough staff on one of the days for breakfast, lots of tables had not been cleared from previous guests, so had to wait for a table.⁹
