Great location just a few minutes walk to the city centre and the train station if you need it. Good friendly little pub around the corner "The Minster Inn" that did tasty pizzas. There's a long stay car park opposite which I used (£20 per day) so the car was only about 50 yards away. All in all it made for a brilliant short break. It probably also helped that the sun shone all week 😀

Extremely comfortable bed, excellent bathroom facilities, very strong wifi. The main building had a really characterful pub with a good selection of food and drink. The food was particularly delicious you could really tell how fresh the ingredients were. I would highly recommend staying here, and will definitely be staying here again myself.

Its difficult to find fault with this venue, but if I had to pick one thing it would be the lack of music in the bar and outside on the patio. Its a minor thing and personal taste, but a little bit of background music does generally give a place a better atmosphere.

The bloody smell of the carpets in the room..If it was a pet owners room, then put hard floors down..It's easier for you and hygienic for customers..I really like this hotel, so please sort the floors.

We arrived in the evening and there was no lighting in the communal stairwell, meaning we had to climb 3 floors with bags and our baby in the dark before opening the lock box and unlocking the door also in the dark. We felt rather unsafe at the property and its surroundings and would have found alternative accommodation if we were staying more than 1 night. The host expected to strip the beds and empty the bins ourselves, which seemed unreasonable. We also had to pay a £150 security deposit outside of booking.com's systems.
