Great room, awesome air con, nice having the smart TV and internet. Washing machine also great. Friendly owner. Excellent security and privacy.

Bathroom needed to be scrubbed properly with proper cleaning products. I did this. There was slime present, possibly creating the smell others have mentioned. Should be better now. The duvet also needs to be changed to a summer duvet for summer time. The mattress has also reached the end of its life, with large holes on one side. Needs replacing.

Hotel convenient for airport when in transit. Room excellent size, very clean. Enjoyed nice meal in the evening also breakfast was superb.

Lovely hotel with a bar next door. Great breakfast. Free off road parking. Need a taxi to get into Ambleside but they were easy to book.

The hotel was fine, but completely ruined by the fact that I was locked out every time I left the building.

I was locked out and unable to get back in again every time I stepped outside. The door locked automatically behind me. The instructions on the door advised guests to press the buzzer on the wall, but the buzzer is only audible to the person pressing it - the staff, by their own admission, can't hear it. There is another notice telling guests to go to the bar entrance if there is no response to the buzzer, except on my last attempt to get in, the bar doors were locked, at about 4.30pm. I knocked as hard as I could, but no-one heard me as there is a set of glass doors beyond the wooden doors I was knocking on. Through a crack in the bar doors, I could see the only member of staff on duty chatting with two men. I can't speak, so I couldn't shout, but if they couldn't hear me hammering on the door, they wouldn't have heard me shouting anyway. How can it be right that you pay good money for a hotel room, which you then can't get access to?! I left and went to the Premier Inn, where the main entrance door was open until at least 11pm, after which time, guests got access by swiping their room card at the entrance door. How simple and straightforward. I want every penny I paid, back.
