We loved the decor - dark and cool, with fun animal-themed paintings - and the staircase. It was a relaxing place to be, and particularly easy on the eyes. In the room, we loved the view out over the bay, and the comfortable, big beds! In the morning we enjoyed a vegetarian-friendly breakfast that was delicious. We were very happy to hear that dogs are allowed, so next time we shall bring our boys with us. A fantastic base for exploring the area.

It would have been nicer to have a wider range of options for breakfast, but what was there suited us perfectly. In the room, it would have been nice if we could have had the window open for airflow due to how warm it was. Also, the toilet seat slid a bit but was manageable.

Very good views over Old Trafford Stadium (but don't pay extra for these - they'll offer them at no cost if they're not busy) Excellent location for gigs at the O2 Victoria Warehouse (100m away) - which is why we stayed. Food and bar: a solid 7/10 The car park is large and safe (but you need to cross a busy road to return to the hotel)

The football theme suggests there'll be football memorabilia on the walls - but this wasn't really the case (apparently, this is only available in some premium rooms). The location is great for the football, cricket or the O2 arena, but not very good if you're wanting to be in the heart of Manc Oh, and Manchester Utd lost away at Chelsea that evening - and the barman was shouty and stroppy afterwards!

Large room, comfy bed, good large towels, strong shower, excellent friendly staff. The best thing was the delicious food. The hotel is in the middle of great walking country . We walked in Dovedale and to Monsal Head and visited Biddulph Grange on the last day. Many cafes in town for sandwiches and a famous cheese shop.

The location was key - we needed to be close to Kings College hospital and DMH train station. Really friendly staff and room was very clean with lovely fresh bedding, comfortable pillows and fluffy towels.

Unfortunately the shower was completely blocked and overflowed even during a short shower. Had to keep turning the water off and wait for it to drain out before turning it back on to finish washing! The room is also next to a busy road so it was difficult to rest after a stressful day in hospital.
