Owner and staff very helpful and friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast was superb. The room was comfortable, great shower,lots of lovely tea/coffee and bottle water was a bonus ! It is a traditional B&B, if your looking for a modern hotel it not for you, if your looking for tradition, charm, character, typical English heritage - then this is the place

The staff were excellent in being professional, friendly and helpful. We had one outstanding problem which the manager, Pedro, sorted out himself. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my wife, who had been injured. Emily was especially helpful. The food was very good.

Our toilet cistern broke down twice. The basin was blocked and cleared very slowly. The manager thought it had been cleared (presumably let down by his maintenance man) and when I reported it again he dealt with it himself.

The apartment was in a quiet area, was super clean and looked newly decorated. It was super easy to walk into town and there was a great little coffee shop close by.

On our first night there was such a noise coming from the bottom floor shouting, singing, and a girl crying. This went on from about 10pm till after 1am considering the apartment has a no noise tolerance from 11pm onwards. For a 4star apartments this was not acceptable. The single bedroom room door doesn’t shut it keeps opening and banging had to leave it open about a foot to stop it banging during the night . Found the front room / kitchen door hard to shut. The bathroom extractor fan was thick of dust and black mould around the sealant on the shower tray .

Terrace Bar closed if you wanted a drink on the terrace you had to go up 2 floors. Dining room was cold and very small for the size of the hotel., we had the same menu both nights we were expecting a different menu each night which is what you expect in this level of hotel, items were missing from the dish we picked, hot food served on cold plates does not work. On the second night the portions were considerably smaller. Breakfast not much choice for continental things were not replenished, no bread at all just croissants and a few pastries. Cooked breakfast again hot food on cold plates, bacon cremated on both mornings cold toast. When we first arrived we couldn’t find the hairdryer, couldn’t access the safe and couldn’t ring reception because the phone wasn’t working so had to go back up 2 flights of stairs to reception. The TV was inadequate for the size of the room, the price and the star rating of the property.

Internal doors were broken the vinyl in the kitchen was was rumpled which was a trip hazard we messaged the owner no reply also Wi-Fi code you could not read it. Bathroom shower was leaking. The property could do with a complete revamp
