destination reviews from real travellers

How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The location of the property is quite convenient as it is situated on the Piccadilly train line. It is very easy and affordable to reach the property from the airport using this line. A one-way ticket costs approximately 6 pounds. It took around 20 to 30 minutes to travel to other major attractions in the city. We were provided with everything we required for a comfortable stay of one week. There are many supermarkets in the vicinity, which allowed us to prepare delicious meals. The costs are reasonable in comparison to other properties in London.

Although it is not the hotel's fault, I believe the surrounding area is in a low-income neighborhood. During our third day of our stay, there was an unfortunate incident where a man was stabbed in front of the Finsbury train station. As a result, the police had to close off the nearest entrance for almost a day, which nearly caused us to miss our planned day tour. Therefore, I would not recommend staying here if you frequently go out at night. One morning, I opened the front door and found 3 men sitting right in front smoking but they ran away immediately. We only received one set of towels for our entire seven-day stay. Additionally, the cooker lacks a range hood, which can cause unpleasant smells if the windows are not opened. Fortunately, we visited during the summer, so this was not a significant issue. The bathroom is quite small, so it might not be suitable for larger individuals. However, I personally found it to be adequate and clean. We couldn't find anything to clean the room so it got super dirty and dusty after the 4th day. The wall is thin so you can hear other guests showering, talking but we were lucky that most of them were pretty quiet and there were no crying baby.

Beautiful location. The cottage was lovely, spotless and had everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. The owners were lovely too and very attentive, they even supplied a loaf of bread, milk and biscuits for our arrival. We were staying at the cottage for a nearby family wedding and Charles, one of the owners of the cottage, came and picked us up from the venue to bring us back to the cottage at the end of the evening which we were very grateful for.

It's in a beautiful location, the building is beautiful, the staff really could do enough for me. They are spectacularly over welcoming.

The breakfast in the morning, food sat around going warm and stale or over cooking. I think and probably many others would suggest taking food orders individually so it's always fresh and this would also reduce the mass amount of food waste and would be cost effective.
