A pleasant stopover from Scotland. Very clean and comfortable. Tasty breakfast but a buffet style starter would have been good. Appreciated the oat milk provided. It was a good place to go from the next morning to see the delights of the lake district as we made our way south.

It was difficult to find and although car parking was available we found it hard to access. We arrived about 10 minutes early but got the impression this was not appreciated.

Only stayed for one night whilst at a festival. I was very pleased with the standard of the room and the facilities. Arrived quite late and was pleased that we were still able to have a night cap.

Comfortable, spacious room. I loved the toiletries. Very friendly and helpful staff. A good breakfast selection. The hotel was in a very good location, just over the bridge from the Old City.

A good place for an overnight stop, with clean, spacious rooms. Easy access to trails behind the hotel, and plenty of parking.

While our room was comfortable and well maintained, the rest of the hotel seemed pretty tired. There's a pool, but I didn't get past the changing rooms as the chlorine smell was so strong. Dinner and breakfast were okay, but the evening meal was pricey for what it was. I also found it odd that the rooms had everything for making tea and coffee, but only paper cups.

Quiet, clean, safe parking, excellent instructions

Muddy, steep access up a woodland path, big bed a bit hard and nowhere to hang up clothes, basic but good value. A pint of milk would have been useful given teabags and coffee were provided

When the man finally arrived he was friendly.

When I arrived I could not get into the building. I rang bells and mobile numbers to no avail. Thank goodness it wasn't raining. On the booking site it said breakfast was available but it was not. I couldn't check out properly as there was no one to speak to. I just left my key in the door. I had to drag my suitcase around with me all day because I couldn't ask about leaving it at the hotel. No lift and quite steep stairs.
