Very poor, I wasted my money, I can not stay for 3days, I left the following day. I cannot sleep overnight, the neighbours were fighting and shouting at a point I had to call police before the noise later stopped and I decided to kept mute till the following day, it was the most terrible experience of life, very dirty place, trash of some days still in the room when I came

It was an amazing experience. I visited with my partner and we both enjoyed the stay. However, the guy at reception was making a sales pitch for us to upgrade. Though we did upgrade, the way he said he was being courteous to us was really our first awful experience, but later we didn't have any issues. Our overall stay was quite relaxing.

A very cosy cottage.Perfect spot for us as we came for a wedding nearby. Arrived on a Sunday and had everything for breakfast provided. All in all a perfect stay. Thank you very much for making our stay so special.

Some parts needed a good clean cushions on couch covered in stains need new ones or just a quick wash and windows sills need a good wipe down and sliver wear on table needed a clean just small things really wouldn't stop me.from.staying there again I.prob only noticed as I work in contract cleaning x

The elevator is small and slow. We used the stairs. Whole we were ok with using the stairs, it was not convenient for persons with disabilities, families with babies or older people.

It was very dated , there was work being done that we wasn’t informed about, so there was lots of work men on the floor they put us on. I booked a small double room for 2 nights , they upgraded us to a family room this was on the 3rd floor, the end room and the lift was out of order. 🤷🏼♀️The smell of cigarette smoke coming from the room next door was awful the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke and was pretty grim. It was sad to see elderly people trying to climb up the stairs bcoz of the broken lift.

I have stayed at the Grand since I was a small child, visiting relatives in the area with my parents, and it always held a sentimental place in my heart. I remembered afternoon teas and feeling like the place had grandeur when I was young. However, it has since been left to wither away and lose its charm. My recent stay really emphasized this decline. I paid extra to stay in a dog-friendly room, expecting this additional payment to cover any extra cleaning that dogs might cause. However, my room was absolutely filthy. There was torn wallpaper on every wall, large marks on the walls, a meter-long dark stain on the carpet, a rusty-colored stain under the radiator, and what appeared to be a coffee stain on the plug socket and carpet. Upon arrival, I found a spider and moth on the bed, stains on the velvet chairs, and a general unclean smell. The bathroom was also extremely dated, with a shower curtain that had a very unpleasant odor. Throughout the night, I was awoken by noises from the surrounding rooms, through no fault of the other guests. The floorboards in the room above creaked with every movement, and the TVs in all surrounding rooms could be heard whenever they were switched on. The only member of staff at reception who was engaged and friendly was a lady on her first day. The bar service was non-existent, and the man at the front desk barely acknowledged me, even though I had been standing in front of him, waiting for him to get off the phone with his colleague. When he did get off the phone, he acted as though it was an inconvenience to help me find where to book a spa treatment. I am really disappointed with my stay. Unfortunately, it seems that the Grand has been left to deteriorate while other hotels have popped up in the area, which I will now be utilizing in the future.
