Staff where very helpful reliable and chatty Room was absolutely perfect had a beautiful view looking out of window on to the front of hotel Breakfast was amazing had evening meal with wedding reception there Band was brilliant Room was nice and clean and tidy On leaving there staff went up to Room and brought my suitcase and jacket down cause I walk with 1 crutch Met some lovely people at the hotel One member of staff was very helpful had a chat with you her name was cerys she was working Saturday morning Rang bell and a member of staff would come right away and get your room key

Rooms only. Comfortable , clean , large en suite double , good size twin and 2 singles over 2 floors with lounge and kitchen on floor 3. Interesting set up . 15 mins from town square / station , but Sainsbury’s round the corner and on a bus route so no problem. Didn’t have car with us but good base for touring

The greeting was amazing, the wonderful couple managing this establishment are fantastic, so welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. I would recommend the Ancient mariner in a heartbeat.

The room was lovely. Such a comfortable bed. The only thing required was more pillows, we asked for some more, and this request was actioned immediately. Well done great customer service

I paid for my parents to stay here during the horse trails. Their room was above the bar/dining area. I was under the impression that guests would not be disturbed at this property. Unfortunately, my parents were kept awake till 1am by a large party. Upon speaking to the owner (Mr Fischer), he said he would personally speak to them and offer them an apology. He did not. The property is beautiful but the rooms are small and disappointing.

The bathroom was awful. There was no door so, having a wash was on show to the other person.
