The staff were lovely. Our family room was clean, well laid out and in good repair - we couldn’t ask for more. Food was also good here and breakfast offered a variety of options. Overall, it was good value for money and this is important to us. Having the pool and gym was an added bonus. We would definitely return to this hotel if visiting the area again.

Cleanliness of rooms and hotel in general was very good - quality of daily room servicing was great. Fantastic location close to tube station. Simple but satisfying breakfast - decent quality (except for pre-brewed coffee which was overly strong and bitter) Modern in room facilities Excellent walk-in shower Staff were friendly and helpful

Small room dimensionsThe small double beds in some rooms. Ours was 135cm across which by modern standards is tiny and not comfortable , nor value for money at >£200 per night (although not unexpected by modern European standards). Small bathroom towels Incomplete room restoration/decoration - holes in the walls. Only 3-4 clothes hangers - more please Breakfast only till 9.30 - early for leisure travellers.

Great host, with a lot to say about local affairs, venues, and history. Excellent large rooms, renovated and comfy. Large outside space. Anything you like for the breakfast, which is included in the decent price. It's a decent place to stay, but don't expect nightlife on the doorstep.

The hotel is in a residential area of Wallsend, 15 mins walk from the shops and restaurant in this largely working class suburb. The Anson pub does good food. The Dorset Arms was formerly a pub and restaurant as well, but as of 2024, only offers breakfast and rooms due to a downturn in patronage of the former. You can still bring in your own food - the takeaways are actually closer than 15 mins walk.

Best location to approach British Museium and sightseeing places with short bus or underground trips. Also very close to convenient shop. Finally, the number push door lock is convenient as well.

The mattress was to soft. You could not have pizza in the restaurant just at the bar. So if one like to have steak and one would like pizza then you have to eat the steak at the bar tables. There you do not have proper seat at the table.
