Wonderful location, a beautiful and superclean hotel with very comfortable room and bed, good swimmingpool, amazing breakfast to be enjoyed overlooking the seafront and Brighton beach - unbeatable view. All staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. I like that you can ask frontdesk for showercaps, vanity kits etc rather than having a handful of little boxes of things you may never use cluttering the room or taking up unnecessary surface area in the bathroom. Very neat.

You have to pay for wifi but, somewhat strangely, is handed a complimentary cookie in a paperbag on check-in, which you then have to juggle along with your luggage. Kind of an odd choice for a free-bie and a bit of a nuisance really. Would have preferred free wifi instead of a cookie, as, im sure, would 99,9% of guests.

The hotel is absolutely lovely! Great decor, nice and clean, excellent facilities and helpful, friendly and attentive staff. I really loved the big screen TV and being able to screencast Netflix. My room was right next to the lifts, and I was worried I’d be able to hear them from my room, but there was no need to worry. I couldn’t hear a thing. Parking and the location is great and I’ll definitely return!

Myself and my family are vegan, and there were only 2 vegan options on the menu for dinner. More variety would be wonderful.

Our room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable indeed but we were puzzled that we had been allocated the family room in the attic as we are a couple in our seventies. We are pretty active so the extra stairs weren't a problem but they could have been. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

After reading the website we were expecting a rather high class restaurant and so we were somewhat disappointed. Our evening meals were adequate but nothing special and quite bland both in presentation and flavour. The cooked breakfast was very nice but the amount and range of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal was disappointing considering this was the most expensive place we stayed on Orkney and Shetland.

Nice room. Lovely pool. Awesome steam room and sauna. Delicious biscuits at the front desk. Refreshing drinks in the lobby. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Room with view of courtyard with Roman wall. Short walk to Tower of London. Easy access to the Underground. ❤️

The stairs to the elevator and all the fire doors made it hard to navigate with lots of big luggage. It's only a minor complaint.

Food excellent. Everything very, very good. It's a boring review but it's a genuinely good place to stay and one where you should, if you can, go back and eat at.

The plug and neck of a laptop are longer and thicker than most other electrical appliances. They probably need at least 3 inches drop from the plug in order to fit easily and not pop out or not go in. Other things fitted, but my laptop didn't. If you stay there longer you might want a desk unless you want to use your computer downstairs. I assume you can but mine was only a brief stay.

Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. Bedroom was reasonable but basic. Well kept beer garden except for cigarette ends and litter on the patio.

The Balfour cancelled one night of our stay, with less than 24hours notice. Another couple in our party were also cancelled. Hence the low score. No plug in the bathroom sink. Dirty and frayed carpet on stairs leading to accomodation. A very loud band were playing on Saturday night and the music did not finish until the early hours. G
