The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly - including the cleaning staff, the receptionists, the bar staff, the restaurant staff and the chef who chatted to us too. The location of the hotel was excellent and very central with easy access to bus stops. The rooms we stayed in were lovely and situated on the second floor of the main hotel building. There is no lift (being an historic building) so a member of staff kindly arranged for our luggage to be taken to our rooms.

Parking may be a problem, and there is a small free hotel car-park. There other car-parks a short walk from the hotel but these incur an overnight charge. We were advised by e-mail of the parking facilities before our stay. Once we arrived at the hotel we were able to park the car in the hotel car-park for our 5 night stay. We decided to leave the car parked and use the bus or reasonably priced taxi services to get to the various places that we wanted to visit during our stay. Therefore, it was not a problem for us but I can appreciate this may be a concern for other guests staying at the hotel.

Lovely location, dog friendly too which is fantastic! We felt really cosy and comfortable for the duration of our stay. The hosts go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. The enclosed field was perfect for our Springer, plenty of room for him to play ball and run round. Overall very relaxing break! Thank you

Nice spacious room very comfortable and decent sized television. Location great for accessing motorway.. decent shop in petrol station across the road. Most importantly connected to the pub which serves a good selection of pub grub.... have already booked my next stay.

After I asked to move because of the noise, my new room was OK, although there was significant damp on the bathroom wall. The location was good.

When I arrived they had 'tipsy terrace' on which was lots of young people having bottomless drinks, so you can imagine the scenes. Then there were 2 functions on, the noise from one of these meant I could hear every word of each song from 2 floors up. I has pre paid for breakfast, I allowed myself 45 mins to get breakfast before I needed to leave. Within that 45 mins I was served a drink and no food, they were under staffed and couldn't handle the demand.
