We very much enjoyed the attention, care and friendliness of the staff. They took really good care of us during our stay. The family room and our beds were superb quality as was our breakfast. We loved our room that much that when the weather was really nasty one day, we just spent the day in our room.

The condensation on the windows in the morning. We dried them off in the morning and opened the windows to let in some fresh air and that usually was enough to solve it for the rest of the day. Unfortunately the weather was too cold to keep them ajar during the night.

Me and my partner stayed in the lark pod, it was out of the way from other lodges. The lodge was hidden by trees which gave up a lot of privacy unlike other lodges around us. We had a view of the lake and mountain ranges, perfect little break away for our birthdays!

The entrance and reception area are very grand and look the part. This hotel has the potential to be a top notch hotel.

Room was quite sparse and is in need of renovation. The furniture within the room was ok but there was cobwebs, half a toilet roll and sanitary bags missing. The room looks very dated which is a shame because with a bit of paint and interior design it could be wonderful as the size was great. USB plugs in room did not work and the drink prices in the bar were extortionate.

Where do I start: the room, the room-service and the check-out were all poor! The check-in process was rather pleasant... but all downhill from here on. The room (229) only has a small window, which looks out onto a wall! The mattress sits on a wooden box base (rather than a slat base) which squeaks as soon as you turn around in bed. No other rooms available. Next day - room service seemed to have ignored our room: no clean towels, no toilet paper. Went to see reception and then had to call them again as 30mn later still nothing. Final day at check-out - as it related to a business trip I requested a VAT invoice but they kept insisting it should come from Booking.com, when Booking.com are just an intermediary and take a commission... they don't issue the VAT invoice. When I insisted she rolled her eyes in disbelief at which point I left. I advise you to go elsewhere; maybe Holiday Inn next door?

My room had no soap or toilet paper. Basin and mirror were dirty. Half eaten cake was on bedside table. Housekeeping was banging on my door Sunday 9am. Hotel is very large and very noisy. My room noise insulation seemed poor.
