The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and the layout of the apartments around the sizeable courtyard was nice. The apartment was spacious and the bed was enormous. Everything worked well and it was a quiet and safe neighbourhood with supermarkets, several off-licence premises and restaurants nearby and there is a wonderful coffee shop directly next store. The towels were huge and soft and fluffy.

The base of the bathtub is slippery when wet and the shower is over the bath so there was no way to avoid it. The floors needed a thorough wet mopping as well. The closest tube station was further than I realised when booking so I spent more on Uber and cabs than I planned to.

Good location, room was everything we needed. Clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was well worth it.

1) The Sink in the toilet was completely blocked! 2) A major safety concerns with the broken safety locks of the windows in both rooms, making it unsuitable and dangerous for families with children. 3) The delayed response of the Maintenace team to partially address the problems. We had to wait for the next day for the sink to get fixed, but the safety issue still existed throughout our stay.

Pity the hotel bar/restaurant isn’t open at the moment, except for breakfast, but plenty of options locally - including the Apex Grassmarket just next door.

The breakfast was terrible, potato scones were solid and the haggis was awful. My room did not get cleaned properly, other people's bottles were left in the hallway all day. No outdoor access while a wedding party was there, despite the size of the grounds and the deck being the one redeeming feature.

initially offered internal twin room with broken a/c. Were moved to single rooms after complaining. Avoid room 232 if offered!
