We kept saying that this hotel was a hidden gem, it's tucked away behind a very busy road, but when you enter the court yard you are transported into a calm oasis of utter beauty. The building is very very old and the history is very well explained on the website. The garden has exclusive access to the wall which surrounds the inner city of York, a beautiful area to just sit and relax after a busy day visiting all the wonderful sites of the city. I must mention the staff who were without exception the best we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble even down to a little packed lunch to bid us farewell.

Was a lovley place to stay and very reasonably priced. Easy to get to, safe on site parking. Close to city center - walking distance. The decor inside is better than I would expect from an apartment. Will 100% keep this in my favourites for future stays in Birmingham. Host was friendly and helped with any questions we had.

Loved the history and character of the property. Remodelled well and I keeping with the history with features kept and used to enhance the character.

Stairs, had 3 red floor room. But it was worth the hike 😂great view from room.

The only thing I didn’t like, but this is personal preference is crisp cotton white bedding as I felt it was a little old and needed a refresh and also white towels .

The whole place needs a complete refit. Homeless man living in a van outside our room !!! Balcony two feet deep in weeds, outside furniture should have been replaced years ago. Room tiny and In need of redecoration. Decking on the staircase rotted and dangerous. I could continue but think I've made my point. Wish I had taken photos you probably don't believe how bad it is. Except for the staff.

'Bathroom' - by a long way and in all regards ie no mirror, extremely small sink from which the kettle couldn' be filled and wasn't capable of using for a hand wash, mouldy shower area. sleeping area was very cramped with paper thin walls and worn out blind. There was no space to place two small travel bags.
