Location is very nice and withing easy access to the facilities in Eastbourne. Check in was easy and the staff seemed pleasant enough. To the owners of the Hotel.. give the staff and Eastbourne a hotel they can be proud of... shut it down and refurbish it.. it has so much potential.

Tired and dated building. I didn't expect much due to the price of the room but I have more negatives with this hotel than positives. The hotel is looking very tired and old and the decor certainly shows that. The room was very basic with no view whatsoever ( unless you like looking at a carpark ). The bathroom was very tired looking. The mastic around the bathroom fittings was failing and was mouldy. The room looked like it was something out of Fawlty Towers and is just in need up refurbishment. My biggest issue was the noise from the room above. We stayed in room 331 and the noise coming from above was unbearable. It sounded like someone was stomping around all night ( and I mean all night ) and this was mixed in with the sounds of moving furniture. I was less than happy as I was on a course and was pretty beat after the first day... my lack of sleep ( and normally I can sleep through anything being a shift worker for the last 24years ) made my second day of my course extremely hard. As I said before, I didn't expect the Ritz for the price we paid, but a Travelodge / Premier Inn are far far superior. Parking at the Hotel is pretty poor. The first issue, not the fault of the hotel I must say, are the parking bays just down the road opposite are far too small. I have an MG HS and if there are cars parked either side then you are going to have real trouble getting into your car. I then decided to park in the Hotel car park which is situated at the rear. Again, parking was at a premium, and I don't really expect to pay to use a hotels personal car park.. I assumed it was free to be honest, it was just luck that my wife found out we had to pay moments before we got a parking fine for using it. I've used plenty of Hotels in the past and they have all operated a system where your car registration is noted.

What ever the question about the stay and facility's my Wife and I agree that the stay that we had just recently we have nothing but praise for the way we were treated by the Staff. Breakfast was great. Bed was Comfortable.

Close to Newcastle with good access, but away from the busiest and noisy area. Good size room with view of the river. Staff friendly and efficient.
