Keira on reception, she was left to run the hotel on her own and was excellent, friendly and very good at her job, a credit to young people, quite amazing when she had only worked there for six days! The bed was comfortable.
Negative section of review
The hotel was very expensive at £150 a night and not worth the money. No meals in the price! Poor Keira was left to run the small bar as well as reception and seemingly everything else. There did not seem to be any managers in the hotel. We had a balcony room in the pictures it looked a nice place to sit on a sunny day; in reality it was narrow, rusting and dirty! The toilet was dirty on arrival, the bidet was cracked. The shower was strange going from cold with a fast flow to warm with a trickle. The rooms are large but everything is in the wrong place i.e. The hair dryer was in a drawer under the tv and nowhere near a mirror, we had to go to a local shop and purchase an electrical extension because the lead on my wife's hair straighteners came no where near any of the mirrors. An old rug on the floor was crumpled and could easily be a trip hazard. It's as if the owners now have no interest in the place, a shame because it could be very nice it has a large unused dining area but no meals are cooked, strange when there are awards all over the walls for haute cuisine!, The menagerie decor of stuffed animals may not really be to most peoples taste.

Very good location for exploring Chester and going to the races. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
Negative section of review
The shower facilities in the room were very poor. Not what I would expect at the price charged. Breakfast was very good but some more fruit and perhaps Greek yoghurt on offer would improve it even more.

Amazingly comfy beds with quality linen. Beautiful surrounds and gardens, very picturesque. Very friendly staff

Breakfast was a bit ordinary and we were offered the 9.30 slot but lots of things had run out

A beautifully decorated property close to all main facilities in Wetherby. A proper home from home.

Having to leave.

Everything was good - the only slight disappointment was that the sound on the TV did not work

Room was a comfortable size with tea/coffee. Breakfast was good and made to order.

Although the room had a fan it was very warm. We had the window open the first night but the noise in the early hours of the morning woke us up. A/C would be an investment.
