The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The room and the bathroom were clean. The continental breakfast was tasty with a good selection and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was less than 10 minutes' walk from the railway station and within a half hour walk from other attractions like the Castle, the caves, shops and pubs. I would be very happy to stay here again.

The hotel was on a main road (on a corner), so there was some traffic noise. However, that is not the fault of the hotel, and the window glass and curtains blocked the noise sufficiently for it to become background. This wouldn't stop me from booking here again.

The Firs was perfect for a short stay away. We had all we needed during our break away and had a very comfortable relaxing weekend away. The Firs was clean, nicely maintained with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom, a comfortable seating area and very comfortable beds. We will try and book again when staying in the area.

There is a slight smell of damp but i suppose this can be expected in an old property and it did not impact us that much to affect what a lovely property this is.

The receptionist was charming. A really lovely lady, very welcoming, professional, happy and helpful. The room was comfy and the breakfast was just what we needed to set us up for the day. Would most definitely stay again.

The room was a bit tired. Attention to detail lacking. Hot tap on basin didn’t work. Bed was lumpy. We didn’t sleep well. Glasses were dirty. We did’t shower there. Breakfast was ok apart from the poached eggs. They were not cooked and were snotty.

Everything good of been better we couldn’t get a shower as it wasn’t working floorboards needs fixing badly it was a shared bathroom an toilet I thought it would be in my room no bath towels runed of of toilet paper I was expecting a travel lodge not a house basically everything was at poor standard
