Beds very comfortable, pastries at breakfast, location and all staff pleasant until I complained that they had broken contract law by advertising the facility of a pool, when not only was there no pool at the property, but the use of the pool at the sister hotel Muthu Alexandra was not available due to refurbishment. They acknowledged their advert was erroneous but would not consider any financial compensation.

The fact that the manager admitted liability for a factually incorrect advertisement of a pool which was not available when I checked in but would not compensate me. Also, our room smelt of bbq sauce when we arrived. This was due to being overlooked by a dirty grey building which had an extractor fan just above and opposite our window, and 11 commercial bins in the alley below. I'd definitely recommend paying the extra for a view of Oban Bay at the front of the hotel which is stunning.

Really enjoyed my stay, room was very comfortable. Loved the walk in shower and sofa in the room. Air con was very handy and I appreciated that. Location was excellent, 5 mins walk to so many places including the train station. Staff all friendly and attentive. Would stay again. I thought the breakfast was good, enough choice for me and didn't finish too early like some places do.

I really would have preferred if the large television had access to Netflix as I wasn't able to cast from my phone or sign in via the website so couldn't watch any films on there. I enjoyed the breakfast but my family member thought it was lacking in choice....the beds were comfy but too many pillows and the duvet was a bit heavy for me. Once I removed the access pillows I slept better. Also the rooms were not replenished or cleaned automatically the next morning which was unusual. They did knock on the door in the late afternoon to ask if I wanted the room cleaned but I had settled in by then.

Room was so much better than expected, we had a family room, too big for us to be honest. They lent us a cot for our baby. Everything was clean. Good location, it is not in the centre but close to the train station; York is not so big, so in 30 minutes walking you go everywhere you need. Staff was nice and helpful too. Breakfast was good, not excellent but good

Can't complain much, as we were happy during our stay. Maybe, lift is a bit small and the second one was not working, but I'm sure they'll sort it out soon. I would add some hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels

The only thing we would have liked is Mugs rather then Cup & Saucer. Perhaps hooks near door to hang outdoor coats. On a personal note the mattress was too hard for us. (But as I said that’s personal choice)
