The accommodation was very clean, fresh and modern. The bathroom was very good and the toiletries were lovely. The host went out of her way to help us and was very friendly as was the breakfast staff. There was a good choice available for breakfast with generous portions. The food was fresh and excellent quality.

Room 7 is a little small for 2 but was perfectly suited to our needs and since the weather was lovely we didn't need to be indoors. However, there is also a pleasant lounge if indoor space is required.

The bird in hand is decorated with care, in keeping with the surrounding areas, themed well and is much bigger than expected. I also really liked the fact the rooms were somewhat seperate from the pub.

£180 per room per night, is was extortionate! The rooms we were given were tiny, the smallest they had and the bathrooms were even smaller, with the shower cubicle entry tiny and the sink was so close to the toilet it was difficult to sit down without leaning on the sink... There are a lot better hotels/rooms in Cardiff that are much much cheaper. Genuinely gutted at how much we spent for such a small room.

Various complaints types didn't work pace hadn't been cleaned was toothpaste on mirror. No soap or milk or shampoo. Owner sayig they stopped because of allergies No water .no anything .if they are going to zdvertise all facilities then at least stick to their word place was disgusting saying they full filed obligation by providing sheets they knew we were friends not couple .shouldve said tap was broken or didn't have time to replenish .meaning place wasn't clean or should they not have cleaned while replenishing asked for refund and said we don't give refunds to o cleaning staff .that's a joke offered me a discount for next stay I dint think so no whete to park card in places could go on .
