  We liked the space it offered for 6 adults and 2 children. The property was clean, and the kitchen well equipped . We also liked the proximity to Alton Towers entrance, which we timed. It was 5 minutes. This meant we could return to the property for our lunch . Everyone enjoyed their stay 😊

  Lovely comfy bed, very clean, and impressively spacious bathroom. Pleasant staff. Nice and relaxing bar area. Hotel itself is very easy to find, with it's canalside location.

  Wasn't expecting to be woken up both mornings just after 5.30am by loud low flying aeroplanes (even with the window closed). Had hoped soundproofing would've been better for somewhere located on a flight path. Also had no mobile phone signal in my room, and the friendly staff were unfortunately unable to help me get onto the encrypted WiFi with the password provided. Could only access Internet and phone line by sitting on the seat outside the front entrance (which was actually quite pleasant, apart from the background traffic noise).

  The hotel is in a good location from buses and the centre. It's easy to get to central London such as Trafalgar Sqaure etc. The bed was okay to sleep on.

  The room was quite claustraphobically small. It's surprising how small the room was. They've tried to maximise space. The room was advertised as a "Deluxe Single Room". I would hardly call it "Deluxe". Whilst it says it is 75 sq ft, you can't really grasp how small that is. The bathroom was okay but very small and cramped. In addition, the sink is above the toilet which makes it awkward to use. Also the curtain is a huge issue. Due to the sloping roof, the curtain doesn't cover the window completely and let in too much light in the morning. Also be warned, the hotel does not have a lift/elevator. I was on the 4th floor and had to carry my suitcase to the top floor. Luckily I had packed light and only had a small travel suitcase. The room is suitable for maybe 1 or 2 nights, but I would not recommend any more nights than that for the price charged. Finally, the WiFi didn't seem to have good coverage on the 4th floor so I ended using my mobile data instead.

  Beautiful view of Oulton Broad. Loads of free parking. Mostly friendly staff. Good hot breakfast Comfortable bed and hospitality tray topped up daily.

  Breakfast not as good as it used to be. No fresh croissants, just prepacked ones. Had to ask for fruit to be topped up on day 1. Hit and miss on breakfast service depending on staff. Wallpaper peeling off. Just felt a little 'tired'. Having said that it was good value for money.

  Noticed that they will be charging to park you're car. £10 per day. Started on 1st April. This was an extra bonus for myself as I do use this car park as stay out of Aberdeen & the freezer parking wasan added bonus when booking there.
