Host was really helpful in getting us in to the property and provided advice on parking. It's an excellent location with a long narrow balcony directly overlooking the beach. Nice kitchen and living room, plenty of space and storage. It's right next to a seafront "square" with cafe's and outside tables and chairs, we had a nice lunch on the first day and a good breakfast in the morning. The apartment is immediately above a pleasant bar restaurant and just up the road are lots of galleries, more restaurants and bars - it's central, good for the harbour and the beach, Morrisons supermarket is 5 minute walk away. The hallway has a bright modern lift to get to the 1st floor apartment. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we found a car park across the road where we could park for up to four hours and free street parking between 6pm and 9am.

The external entrance and hallway are scruffy and badly in need of redecorating and maintenance, there is no handle to pull the door closed and holes in it where presumably there were once door locks. We used the stairs rather than the lift, and the stairs are scruffy with missing edging and the fire door from the 1st floor had missing glass in the bottom panel. The apartment has good facilities but also needs work, the laminate floor in the bathroom has water damage, the seals round the bath/shower are all peeling away and fittings (e.g. toilet roll holder) are cracked and damaged. The second bedroom has a small ensuite but this is out of use. In the living room/kitchen-diner, there is a sofa and a futon sofa both but are really uncomfortable to sit on which given that its otherwise a nice place to sit with a brilliant view over the beach and harbour is a real pity because it is a great location and otherwise a nice space.

The decor of the hotel was very good as was the comfort of the bed, with the exception of the hotel seating and the pillows. The staff and food in Scoff and Banter were great with a high standard of food at really reasonable pricing. Scoff and Banters staff were welcoming and polite.

The room itself was small and dirty, the TV didn't work and the bedside shelf was coming off the wall, I could not stand my water on it. There was no mirror where I could dry my hair or do my makeup and there were no bedside lamps or similar, only overhead led ceiling lights. The staff at the hotel were not helpful, The same person who checked us in also checked us out and gave us no information about the hotel such as timings for breakfast nor asked us even if we enjoyed our stay. No staff member wore a name badge.Although advertised on a scanned QR code leaflet in our room we called for room service just after 11pm and were told that room service was not provided..the leaflet stated we could order toasted Panini between 11pm-6am. This hotel is very overpriced for the service and amenities.

Great breakfast. Welcoming with bicycles, which were safely stored inside overnight. Good advice in where to eat dinner. Great location, just up the hill from the town and pier. Room recently refurbished, shared bathrooms also well appointed.

Shared bathroom was a worry - could be improved by having loos separate from showers / bathrooms.

Immense character, large, fabulous panelled room (6)...like walking into Anne Boleyn's room!...with "hidden" modern en-suite!! Good breakfast, too!

Lighting in room rather dingy (characterful?!) and need another lamp by the tea/coffee making area, please!

Easy to check in, easy to find the room. Hotel was uncrowded and quiet, so very cosy. Everything provided in the room was good quality and worked okay.

What is it with hotels and tea-making facilities? Plenty of tea/coffee.. (single occupant) but only two sachets of sugar. Why? The sliding glass door into the bathroom. Fine if you're on your own.. but not as private as one might prefer if you were sharing. Some mouldy silicone around the shower... not bad enough to bother me but it was noticeable.

Location, close to underground and amenities. Lovely neighborhood. Large space for a family of 5 to unwind at the end of the day

Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Quirky house.

Breakfast. No choice of what to have and had to eat it in your room. It felt as though the owners didn't want guests in their house. Also, part of a roll left under a chair from previous guest. When we arrived the room was absolutely freezing. An interesting stay but won't be returning. The house and its rooms do not match the reality of the house.
