Lovely house, easy to find, great parking capacity if you have a car. Brilliant bath, needed after twenty two mile walk. Beautiful room, lovely large bed. Brilliant breakfast and fantastic service from the staff. I spoke to the owners who were away, but the staff they had in place did a fantastic job. They when the extra mile by chasing me down the street as I forge my waterproof over trousers. These were really needed on the St Cuthbert's Way in April!

Loved my room! Huge window with view of silver birch tree and really quiet. Beautiful big bath and lots of hot water. Decor in bedroom lovely very traditional. Bed comfortable I slept well. Bathroom a bit disappointing decor wise, dark and dated. 1980’s gold taps, marble tiles and mahogany. Still I’d stay in the same room again. Felt very safe staying here as a single woman.

The hotel is in a good location, just far away enough from the main roads to be quiet, but close enough for you to have everything in walking distance. The staff were very welcoming & friendly. Rooms were very clean & bijoux.

With our room being compact it did get quite warm & the air conditioning unit was situated directly above the bed. This meant we had to ensure the temperature was right before settling down to sleep for the night.

Breakfast was a prepacked bag of things with a coffee from a machine at reception. This was good for what we needed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Thankyou. The room and facilities were clean.

There was a new fridge in its packaging, and a roll of carpet or flooring material in the reception hall lowering the tone somewhat. The staff told us refurbishment work was ongoing but was taking far too long.

The location is good, and check was simple, but it was late so it was quite, so it is hard to judge as an experience.

The hotel is in need of a good refresh. The carpets are dirty, and the general feel of the hotel is that the hotel is very tired and is kept in a good enough condition.

Only one complaint, the coffee in the rooms. 'Nescafe original ' really!!!! You get better in a premier inn. At your prices please get some decent coffee.

Property itself was great but there was a smell in the communal hallway/landing/stairs area, it wasn’t a strong smell and didn’t bother us. Not a great deal the owner can do about that sadly. As I say, didn’t affect the property at all, it was lovely.
