Positive section of review
The location is brilliant, it's roughly midway between Lord Street with its main bus terminal, and the Electric Railway. The views out to the sea are lovely from the breakfast room, and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast is amazing, really good quality food and fresh. The on-site bar is gorgeous, and the attached restaurant is worth a visit for its amazing Japanese/Thai food. The building itself is beautiful, and though they did have scaffolding up it didn't impact our stay at all.

The room we were given is situated overlooking the enclosed atrium, which meant that there was no real airflow through the room so it smelled stale and grew uncomfortably hot during the night (we were given a fan though, which helped). The mattress was a touch too firm for our liking, so we didn't have the best sleep, and the bathroom smelled peculiar (not helped by the lack of airflow). Due to the way the hotel is built, this is unfortunately one of those aspects that can't be helped. We didn't spend too long in the room anyway so we weren't majorly inconvenienced by these factors.

Location couldn’t be any more central. Parking permit was very welcome. As was the bottle of wine and cake left by the host on arrival. Very well appointed. Very clean. Fabulous views across the estuary. Flat two is the best because you get the sea view without having to climb too many stairs.

Instructions for the lock box could have been clearer. We couldn’t operate it. No clue to which of the three lockboxes belonged to the flat. Wi-Fi doesn’t extend to the bedrooms.

(a) very good location: a 10-minute walk to the city center, the same distance to the train station (b) the apartment is well-equipped and very clean; you will find everything you need: a coffee maker, toaster, iron, etc.

(a) it's noisy during rush hours, even though it's on a side street. Local drivers probably use it as a shortcut to avoid the city center. (b) the bathroom is very small (c) unusual check-out time (you have to leave the apartment by 9:00 AM), which was non-negotiable in our case

Very nice cozy home, with 2 bedrooms and backyard space. Kitchen was well kept. The host was so wonderful helped us with travel information too. Really friendly and considerate.
