Breakfasts were very good in a spacious, well-lit dining hall. Lots to eat. Courteous and helpful staff. The bar in the reception is a great feature! Love that and I bought myself a pint on one occasion. Beautiful courtyard in the middle of the property where you can sit down and relax to the sound of the fountain, and where I enjoyed my pint while having supper with my daughter. Luther House has kept its seminary roots and is still today a place for theological studies. I liked that aspect of it, which gives the site a respectful and peaceful atmosphere.

If i had one query it would be for the price paid in other hotels it would include breakfast. But you get what you pay for and it was an excellent stay.

A friendly host. A breakfast of fresh fruit, muesli, yogurt and decaf-tea set me up for the day. Very close to Old Town and Turner Contemporary Gallery.

The breakfast wasn’t great. Quite expensive and in a party of four we were given someone else’s meal by mistake and waited another 20 mins for other 3 meals to be served. Other people around us said they were waiting 40 mins for their food so unless was just bad day in the kitchen I wished we had gone out for breakfast somewhere else.

Upon arrival, I was immediately asked to pay, despite having already paid in advance. I presented proof from my bank showing that the payment had been made several days prior. Despite this, the woman at reception insisted, "You pay again. It is void." and handed me a receipt showing a void payment. Attempting to clarify, I showed her the payment on my phone. Her response was the same: "It is void. You must pay". She completely ignored my proof and made no effort whatsoever to verify the information on her computer or to see if there had been a mistake on her part. Three to four times this happened as I continued to show her banking and Booking.com proof. Her last response of "It is void." was extremely rude, abrupt and she kept trying to pressure me into paying again as if I was in the wrong. When I examined the receipt she provided, I noticed the voided payment was timestamped 20 minutes before I even arrived at the reception desk, which was impossible as I was on the tube leaving Wembley Stadium at that time with 90,000 other fans competing for signal. Moreover, the card details on the voided receipt were not mine. When I pointed this out, it was clear she realised she had been caught out. However, there was no apology, no explanation of what just happened, no acknowledgement of her pressuring me into paying again for something I had already paid for. She simply produced a new receipt confirming my payment (out of nowhere like it had already been sat on the desk waiting for when we came)! I have absolutely no doubt she was trying to scam me into paying again. When I challenged her she just shrugged it off like she didn't understand what I was saying. This stressful check-in experience left a sour taste in my mouth and significantly marred my stay - I left all my bags in the car because I had absolutely no trust in the company. I was told the next day her name could be Oxanna. 26th May 2024 at around 17:45-18:15.
