Lovely property, well kept and well stocked, in a nice quiet area of Basingstoke. Main bed was very comfortable. The bed setee in the the living area, not so comfortable, but fine for a short visit. Host was lovely and very helpful. There was tea, coffee, milk, and breakfast which was a lovely welcome. . We would stay again. The car parking space, was a bonus. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the property had recently had a leak , ( fully understand these things happen). It meant there was a bit of damp and so the smell of damp was quite strong especially in the lounge. Once this issue is resolved, it will go from being an excellent accommodation to being a superb property. This issue would not put us off staying again, as it really is a lovely place in peaceful location.

Breakfast was tasty - though you had to choose between fruit/cereal/croissants/cereal and a cooked option; we prefer a small bit of each but ended up with just a huge cooked breakfast. The welcome, decor, cleanliness and bed were great. The room was very quiet and dark at night.

The Wi-Fi does not work and the plumbing needs attention. The toilet paper is appalling. We had a poor dining experience - a waitress with long hair that she ran her fingers through (a pet hate); no lamb option (not informed of that until half way through our starters); and a poor fillet steak - but the manager did everything he could to put things right/recompense us and deserves credit for that.

A place I/we stay during my visits home from working full time in the south of England. The kings head have great food, great beer and social areas and the rooms are stunning. It's a pleasure to stay here. Every time!

Damaged window frames in bedroom Two flights of stairs and no one able to assist. Hotel run and managed from a busy bar - no separate resident guest facilities; thus long queue at bar to check in.
