Location perfect for our stay. Lovely old hotel. Querky due to the layout and listed building status. Nice having a bath, although didn't use it for this short trip. Lovely views from the sash windows across Steyne Gardens. Very attentive reception staff, you ask, they help.

The shower screen is too short, if the shower head is in the cradle, the whole room (which is tiny!) gets a watering. Bonkers.

There was a good selection for breakfast, the room was clean and spacious with lots of electrical points which is really useful. The beds were good sizes and had lots of pillows.

The toilet rolls were very thin, a bigger and or better quality would have been more economical in the long run as I used 3 times the amount. The carpet by the bed had several patches thread bare. There was cobwebs on the ceiling, and the quilt would have been better if it was summer weight rather than winter weight.

The accommodation itself was lovely, and there were dogs, horses and a friendly donkey. The location was good, close to Bristol Airport.

Unfortunately we stayed when the owners were on holiday. We’d been given no instructions on accessing the property. So when we arrived we were let in by someone on their way out and told to take room 2 or 3 and she’d let them know and that someone would pop over in an hour or so. We got to the apartment which was lovely, but no WiFi password and very poor phone signal. After 2 hours we went knocking on doors to try and find someone because we needed transport to the airport in the morning and I’d had no response to my messages to the property. No one was around and when we phoned the contact number no one answered. It was 3 1/2 hours before we found someone (the owners mother) who booked the airport transfer for us and told us the minibus would come into the property and cost £7 or £10. A few hours later someone opened the door (the owners son) and was surprised we were in there, saying we might be in the wrong room. Then left. An hour later came back, confirmed the airport transport and again said it would come onto the property to collect us. In the morning, the minibus just parked by the gate, which we didn’t know how to open. It cost £20 and the driver seemed confused that we didn’t have a car to pay for parking while we were away.
