The Old Village Hall has been sensitively converted to offer a high standard of accommodation. The living area is extremely spacious while three genuinely double bedrooms and three large bathrooms mean everyone can be comfortable. The 'master bedroom' with en-suite is especially remarkable for size and fittings. Kitchen facilities are excellent with a Bosch oven and hob and ample fridge/freezer storage. The property was spotlessly clean throughout. Situated up a quiet cul-de-sac just off the main road the property is peaceful whilst offering easy access to Kelso and other towns in the Scottish Borders. The Host lives locally, was easy to contact via Booking.com and very helpful if a question arose about something.

Everything suited us and all in all the property greatly exceeded the expectations of these 'seasoned' self caterers!

The lovely friendly welcome of having our bags carried to our room. The pot of tea and homemade cake awaiting us in the conservatory on arrival. Homemade lemon curd and jams with our breakfast. Plenty of good quality produce for breakfast, as we sat watching the birds. We enjoyed seeing the baby lambs on site. Our bed was very comfortable. Room was airy and clean. Tea making facilities in our room, with a bottle of fresh milk in the small fridge. We would definitely recommend this place to stay and hope to return.

The shower wasn't very powerful. Some noise of cars passing by as property is close to the road.

Breakfast was DIY. The croissant and pastries were tough. There were cereal packets. There was no means of making toast - I suppose because of fire risk. There was a kettle and no doubt coffee grounds. So basic but pleasant pads on the working surface

It was basic but they do not have a room in which they could offer breakfast. Parking took a bit of reversing not helped by a chap and his motorcycle deliberately parked awkwardly. Sadly not pet friendly - but we knew that before booking so our terrier had a night in his cage

The apartment was clean and well-kept, matching the photos clearly. Plenty of towels, coffee and toiletries provided. The key collection was very straightforward. The lockbox combination was shared the day of arrival with photos of which lockbox to use.

The balcony/terrace door didn't lock and so I felt slightly unsafe that my valuables were left unattended in an unlocked property.

The reception staff were very helpful and provided my Dad with a room upgrade ahead of his surgery the next day.

I was initially given a room that was already occupied by other guests
