When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

I've stayed here before so knew the location was excellent as right next to Gloucester Road tube station. The building and foyer are quite impressive and the doorman was very helpful and efficient. Please ignore the photos attached to this review as they are not of this hotel ! ( not my photos either 🤔) This review is for The Baileys Hotel, Gloucester Road.

Although I arrived just before 3pm and no other guests were around, the man who checked me in was very haughty and unpleasant. He made me feel as though I was being checked into prison and not a 4 star hotel ( which I had prepaid over £200 per night for, single room) Other staff seemed pleasant fortunately but this gave a dreadful first impression. In fact, if I hadn't prepaid I would probably have walked out ! The room was as expected, small but not unusual for London. The bathroom was modern and the rainfall shower was a bonus ( though pressure is fairly low) Room was cleaned to a good standard throughout my stay but the air conditioning seemed non existent and the window locked with a notice saying could not be opened. As a result my room was very hot and stuffy and this was during a fairly cool week in June. Would be sweltering in a heatwave 😳 I stayed out every day and evening but still felt uncomfortably hot at night. The reason I didn't complain was because of the numerous reviews I read from others who had. The hotel itself looks very smart but there are clearly some maintenance issues that need fixed. A great shame as the location and hotel facade are both excellent.

Close to The Bannockburn battle site which was great for a walk in the morning. Good parking and reasonably priced compared to city centre alternatives.

Room was dusty and seemed to need a deep clean as skirting boards were dusty. The shower drained very slowly. The room also got really hot and there was no air conditioning which was uncomfortable at night, windows only opened a crack.

The location is good. About a 15 minute walk to the main station and a 10 minute walk to the town centre. Complimentary toiletries were available.

We weren’t informed of a second entrance (that required a code) that needed to be used after hours. The room was basic and the bathroom smelt questionable.

Breakfast was poor, rooms are very dated. I generally stay here due to its location to work but I will look at other places to stay next time

Grounds weren’t as portrayed on website with easy access to countryside. This was important to us, when bringing a dog. Lodge would benefit from a mini fridge and a hose for dog cleaning!
