When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Chris was very welcoming and friendly. Gave us good advice about places to visit. Our room was lovely. We especially enjoyed the balcony and having a sofa in the room. The en-suite bathroom was very clean. The choice of breakfast was excellent and very tasty. The location was very good, easy to reach the centre of Lyme Regis by car and doesn’t take too long on foot if you are able to walk up the hill. Would definitely recommend.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Very comfortable stay with lots to do on the Isle and which was located no more than an hour away from anywhere. The rooms were all very well decorated and spotless when we arrived. The hot tub was a lovely touch which some of us took advantage of during our stay. The peace and tranquility made us enjoy our time together even more. Any questions were swiftly answered by the Owner.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and to say we 'didn't like' things is not a reflection of our time at Colemans Retreat. The facilities were amazing, although we had to knock off a few points for a couple of things; No teapot or coffee pot. The welcome information was not very professional, loose bits of paper rather than it would have looked better in a binder or folder, and did not reflect the modern property. There were no instructions on how to use the washing machine, the dishwasher or how to connect our devices to the electronic accessories, all of which have been standard in all other places we have stayed. . No information about the bins or where to put our rubbish, although that was cleared up when we contacted the owner, again this is something quite basic and was not supplied information we have previously had been given. The rowing machine was a bit random in the main living room. We did wonder who would use it on a holiday and again no instructions on how to attach our devices or how to turn on. Finally, the added extras were a bit of a surprise, for example the foodstuffs and drinks, which were obviously left by previous guests, you should really have checked the expiry date on what was left as, for example, the Marmite was 18 months out of date and the Port was corked. This would contravene any Health and Safety.

Perfect location to hike Ben Nevis. Free parking. Sturdy bunk beds. Lovely view overseeing the rolling hills and sheep. Spacious bathroom. Basic but fairly well equipped kitchenette. Lovely restaurant with live music.

Rather pricey because of its location and high season. The layout / configuration of the room makes it rather difficult to use the remaining space of the room esp dinning or 4 persons moving around or un/packing.

From the initial welcome to the booking out, everyone was super welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and not for the price was very affordable.

Good breakfast, we have stayed before and will stay again if we are in Skegness. Great value for money. Great that parking can be provided if arranged.

So handy to have clocks in the bedrooms. Also two hairdryers and plenty of mirrors. Lovely kitchen and attractive, cosy bedrooms.

Found the stairs a little tricky and banged our heads several times on the wooden staircase.

Nice breakfast, only had gluten free bread and bacon though

Very good breakfast & friendly staff

Even though we booked months ahead of our arrival the room we were given was very disappointing. Extremely hot & stuffy on the first night. No effort had been made to cool the obviously hot room for our arrival. Not even the window had been opened! Very uncomfortable sleep. The second night was better as the helpful housekeeping manager provided a fan when we told him of our discomfort. This certainly helped. I can’t understand why reception didn’t provide the fan for the first night.

Location, room was nice and clean.

Check in process was a mess, the key didn’t work, the rooms were mixed up. Breakfast too expensive for what is served.

There is renovations in progress that we were not aware of when booking. Not hot water for shower when we were getting ready for a wedding. It was fixed after we left
