After a long drive and then an expectedly long detour trying to locate the place, we were just in time to check in but sadly too late for our restaurant booking. However we were received with a warm welcome and the kitchen kindly stayed open to offer us pizzas. The place was extremely busy, with loud music blasting through speakers which, after a few days of tranquility in the Highlands, was a bit dizzying. However the rustic bar/restaurant with roaring fire was characterful. By 10pm the bar had cleared out, chairs were on the tables and everything was silent. The location is actually very beautiful, next to a small harbour with a little path which leads along the lake to a point where you can hop on a boat for a little tour. And the coffee shop attached to the Inn is very good. You probably need a good couple of days to discover the cove and location.

Having located our chalet, this is mainly where the drop in stars comes in. Not sure what the rooms in the Inn are like, but the chalets are rather a bizarre set up. A contemporary and soulless collection of mini houses surrounded by gravel. Our chalet had three rooms and our room was on the ground floor. Very basic, lacking in any character. In the morning around 8am, thinking we'd have a quiet and slow start before setting off on our long drive home, we were shocked into reality by the sound of cars driving on the gravel, doors slamming, workmen sawing into metal and cleaning ladies speaking at such a volume it seemed the building was on fire. We couldn't open any blinds because they all looked onto the gravel parking area and it felt like we had spent the night in the middle of a car park. Disappointing considering the price of the room.

We were greeted with a warm welcome from Matt the manager who took us up to our room. Loved the quirky building and comfy individually styled rooms. Lovely food made from local ingredients - enjoyed a 3 course dinner in the evening and a fantastic breakfast before leaving. Lovely ambience in a quiet location which had good access to all the places we wanted to go.

Just the parking which was quite small although we did manage to park opposite but I’m not sure what it would be like peak season although guidance was given to say where else you could park in the village.

We booked based on the convenient location with opportunity to walk through to terminal 3 and get an extra hour of sleep. Flight left too early to partake in breakfast.

Lift broke only working from 1st floor ( not the end of the world I know) also,there was a barman on the Sunday evening who was quite rude and looked like he didn’t want to be there .

Poor communication an email telling me what date I would get the login information should have been sent well before date of travel as I had difficulty accessing my email when travelling.Had a nightmare getting the lockbox code. Accomodation was very noisy. I could hear every-one coming and going lots of very loud voices and slamming doors
