Location was excellent - superb drive through mid-Wales to the Marches. Accommodation within the convert stables was superb, high quality and welcoming. The inn has been equally refurbished to high standard and like the proprietors very welcoming. The menu was gluten and dairy free and varied - awesome not to have to ask which choices could be gluten-free - hope the George retains this approach and achieve the accreditation. The food was excellent.

Non-availability of gluten-free real ales to go with the gluten-and-dairy free menu was a bit disappointing but conversations with the owners in sourcing local brewery suppliers promises this will be up. We will be back to check.

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed couldn’t have been more perfect and the breakfast was excellent.

The extra large bed was uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on the joint where the mattresses met. The bed was just tooooo big.

The location is great, the furnishings and decor are very nice

I was in a basement room that was very dark, looked into a dank stairwell, and was very noisy because everytime anyone on an upper floor took a shower or flushed the toilet I could hear it in my room. In addition -- the room was so tiny that I literally had to jump over my suitcase on the floor to get to any place in the room other than the bed.

Excellent service cleanliness comfort and facilities

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good location
Negative section of review
Our room was dated and tired looking. The floor creaked and groaned badly, as did the floor above, which woke us up when the residents were moving around. The light above the bathroom mirror didn't work, the shower temperature fluctuated hot and cold and the hairdryer in the room was from the 70's. I think for these reasons that paying £100 per night for room only was not justified.

If I had to be really picky I’d like pancake stacks on the breakfast menu
