We came to chester for our mini honeymoon to visit the zoo. From the moment we arrived to Glen Garth, everything was perfect. John & Hayley went above and beyond for us, even decorating our room. We stayed in the room with the ensuite on the back of the building, the room exceeded our expectations in every way. The cooked breakfast was beautiful with plenty of cold selection too. The location was perfect for us to walk into the centre of chester and the bus stop to the zoo is right outside the guest house. There is also a co op a couple of minutes walk as well as a local high street. Friendly, welcoming and special mention to Vegas the poodle who made our stay even more special.

A property which provides everything you need for a relaxed and enjoyable get away. Every part of this property has been thought out well, equipped with everything you could need and the hosts were informative and friendly throughout the whole stay.

The location of the property is good as it is in the middle of the city and the restuarants around the Millenium Centre and Cardiff Bay. The room was large and the bed comfortable and it was nice to have the facilities to cook a meal.

When we first arrived we were given a room overlooking the car park which didn't match the room we thought we had booked. We were then moved to a room on the second fllor with a balcony and water view. However, the mattress cover on the bed was very marked and dirty. The photo on the Booking.com website is nothing like the reality of the hotel and location.

The hotel is fantastic, great facilities, fabulous door and reception staff. Rooms are spacious and clean with complimentary toiletries, water, tea and coffee, ohh and the best shortbread biscuits 😋

The Spa is very nice but unfortunately during this visit the young lady on the reception appeared to have left her personality at home along with her helpful gene. Hey ho, can't have it all I suppose.

If you come southbound on M1 the road to get to the other side of the motorway is very badly signed and difficult to find. You need to drive a long way around to get to the other side.

The location
Negative section of review
The space and room were really small. Wasn’t comfortable and ergonomic. We hardly could place our baggage and move around. The ventilation system was shared in a way that we could smell other rooms food, etc. There was a wooden door (at least locked) between our room and the nearby room. The entrance was a coffee store were anyone can have access and take the elevator to go to the apartments/ rooms - that made us feel kind of unsafe.
