This was a lovely second floor, apartment - spacious and light. We really enjoyed the views. I loved the location. Close to many restaurants, bars and the supermarket. The facilities were great. We especially appreciated the washing machine and washing powder provided in the apartment. It is within walking distance of Lime Street Station (about 10 minutes of flat walking) and the centre of Liverpool.

Collecting the keys required us to walk to a local convenience store, show a code to the employee and collect the key. We had to return them there as well. Seemed overly complicated. Our TV did not work, When I contacted the company to report this I did not appreciate being told that I needed to contact the maintenance group who looked after the apartment. Even when I (grudgingly) did this, the issue was not resolved as the suggested method of turning the TV off and then on again surprisingly didn't fix it. Also, be aware that you will be required to take out 'damage insurance' prior to your stay. This will either be a 20GBP non refundable charge, or, alternatively a GBP250 charge which will be refundable but minus a GBP10 'administration' fee if no damage done!! This fee is refunded 14 days after your stay ends.

The house was beautiful and there was even a welcoming basket. It was the perfect spot to travel to and from Edinburgh by train without being in the city's hustle and bustle. There's a beautiful coastal walk very close to the apartment and there's a shop close by as well so everything was close at hand.

It was definitely not a disappointment but with the small kids we did hide a lot of the ornaments straight away.

The property has an absolutely positively UNBEATABLE location. Perfect walking distance to shopping and food. Especially for someone who had hurt their ankle aka me. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. There was also a good variety of rooms to choose from.

This is NOT a reflection on the property but more so on my taste. I prefer modern rooms. This was not it. The carpets in the room had not been deep cleaned (not just vacuumed) in a long time. The general decor could have been updated and I prefer a sleek shower to an older tub.

Staff at the lifeboat sister hotel were really friendly. The Thornham rooms were very tastefully decorated and lovely little touches like filter coffee, fresh milk and snacks in the large communal area downstairs. Fantastic breakfast chooses!
