destination reviews from real travellers

How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Stayed here with my Mum for four nights; she had the main bedroom and I slept on the sofa bed. Very spacious apartment, great facilities, fantastic location, free parking. The short cut down into Bakewell was good but the steep walk back up is hard if you're not used to hills! Lovely views over Bakewell from the bay window in the living area. Enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in the garden. The small kitchen area has everything needed for a short stay. We had a problem with the microwave but a quick call and a brand new one was delivered in minutes - excellent service. Plenty of storage space both in the large, comfortable bedroom and the living area. Lovely bathroom with all the facilities, and good shower pressure.

Grab rails in the bath would be very useful; the shower is over the bath but there is nothing to hold on to to help get in and out. A privacy screen or net curtain is needed in the main bedroom as it is on a level with the car park and people can see in. We did note there are nets on the lower floor windows. There is a plastic dish drainer in the kitchen area that stands upright behind the sink, and there is also a light under the cabinet. This light gets very hot and as the drainer was touching it, it started to melt. This had obviously happened before as the drainer was already slightly damaged when we arrived. Fortunately we were still in the apartment when this happened so quickly opened all the windows and ran the drainer under the cold tap. The sofa bed is very hard and would benefit from a mattress topper - this could easily be rolled up during the day when not in use and kept in the tall cupboard.

Very clean and nice apartment with great hosts. We booked because we wanted to go to the Ascot races, this is just a 10 minutes drive way. So an excellent location.

I liked the building the apartment was in and the location. The beds were comfortable, and the apartment was clean.

    • Negative section of review

It was really warm inside which we didn't like and even after turning everything down it still felt warm. There was no enough lounges or comfortable chairs to sit in. Only space for three people and the accommodation can sleep 7 so more chairs would be good. There was no ventilation or fans in the main bathroom and the ensuite shower didn't drain quick enough so I could not wash my hair. Picking up the keys was terrible. We had so much luggage and travelled to the accommodation that was listed on the booking not realising the keys needed to be picked up from a different location. Made it a really long and difficult beginning.

The only thing that was slightly annoying was handing in your key every time you go outside and having to pick it up again when you come back in.

Location perfect. Lovely courtyard and garden. Food very good and service very welcoming.

Room (Renault) was unbearably hot. Air conditioning not effective. Alternative at night was to open windows onto noisy street. Unable to open the windows anyway, design of double glazing useless. Heard other guests complaining about same issue. Design of window blinds in bathroom silly - took up whole window sill leaving no space for anything. Position of mirror leaves men shaving onto the floor.
