We liked the feeling of staying in a blackhouse that hadn't been gentrified but was still comfortable and warm with everything you needed. The location was great with walks immediately from the property. Bothy is a good name for this accomodation. A stay here is more towards camping style rather than glamping, but the lugging of water, fuel etc has been done for you - thank you, John and Jackie. We also liked the fact that Jackie's family had lived there for so long and that she still is part of the weaving heritage of the islands.

Slept well, Breakfast excellent - they just kept replenishing dishes as required. So handy for town centre, walking to excellent tea shop and fudge shop in under 15 minutes. No driving required and car in a safe, free car park on site. Very clean. Helpful staff.

Would have liked 'twin' beds instead of sofa made up. I slept well on it, BUT found it difficult to get in and out due to metal bars from the sofa mechanism which I had to climb over.

Check-in was to be at4 . but didn't get in till4.45 then was told to take hower shoes off.then was shown to hower room nice room but no where to put your clothes as all the wardrobes and drawers were zipped tied no TV but was told there was a TV room downstairs but no TV in no lock on door. desided to leave and find somewhere else what a waste of £145 for 10minutes as were leaving was asked to leave a 10 but I don't think that right

The whole apartment is very basic, both bedrooms, although clean, had only a bed and wardrobe between the two, we tried to open the curtains but the curtain poles came down, the on suites were also basic and were desperate for decoration. The extractor fans in both were very noisy and permanently on. The kitchen was appalling, oven was pitted with dirt and even if we had tried to use it there were not pots available. The living room consists of an old leather 2 seater sofa, an old flimsy table with 4 flimsy chairs and a TV. Overall the apartment was very bad. The noise from upstairs kept us all awake until 2am. If we had known before booking we would not have booked
