Our room was very comfortable, with a lovely view of the harbour, sea and distant islands. The breakfast was superb. The continental breakfast had a good range of cereals and lots of fresh fruit. The cooked breakfast was individually prepared to our taste and was delicious. The service from all sectors of the hotel was always attentive and polite.

We did feel that the cost of dinner was rather excessive, leading us to chose some excellent restaurants in the town. Maybe some simpler, less 'Cheffy' options could be introduced. That said, the food we had was lovely.

Location is great, and the whole place was impeccably clean. Very easy to gain entry through the lock boxes + codes, and the facilities (sink, kettle, hairdryer, etc) were all very clean and new. Bed very comfortable, linens and towels are BRIGHT white, really can't fault anything about the cleanliness!

The room was SO unbearably hot when I entered. It was luckily only 14 degrees outside so cooled down when I opened the skylight and aimed the fan, but in the summer I could imagine this would be very uncomfortable with no air conditioning. Room is certainly small but enough for a weekend.

I liked staying there it was almost as good as having my own city centre place....it certainly was quieter than staying in a hotel...there was enough of everything so I could live there happily for a couple of days....I would use it again

Beautifully presented, spacious cottage. Had everything you could possibly need and MORE!! Good location - 5 mins walk into the center of Keswick. Lovely enclosed patio/garden for the dog and our morning cuppa

My only little complaint is that the shower could have been better and the bed in the main bedroom creaked at the slightest movement These had also been addressed by previous occupants in the comments book

Truly friendly staff and friendly environment. Most amicable ways of dealing with queries efficiently. Felt like home away from home. Super clean, and the whole hotel just smells unique and amazing.

I wish there were bigger glasses at the reception for the lemonade as it was so delicious I could have finished the whole jug. However, I understand it is a small glass for a reason. I'm just too greedy. It's such a lovely idea. And so tasty!

Service was very slow and not consistent, waiting for a drink at the bar and staff just chatting away between themselves. When Ordering breakfast things came to the table at strange times , again not consistent . Food was superb, however very tiny portions at Dinner for the price , I ordered the asparagus starter , it only had 2 small asparagus tips on it ! So silly at the price they charged !

Bedside lights very dim and one couldn't read in bed without the bright wall light on as well Bathroom tiling inside the shower very poor grout- mould and also at the bottom of the aluminium frame to the shower both sides - we were told they are refurbishing but this matter of cleanliness needs attention Decaffeinated coffee would be welcome in the room and at breakfast!
