It was what I expected. Phoenix Nights. For me a very local, trusted, quiet hotel near my parents. Don't expect luxury here, but it has it's place, a sound and safe hotel for older guests typically. Nothing wrong with it, but dated back to the 80s. Staff hilarious and dealing with it! If anyone actually reads this, you should know that back in the day, Noel Edmonds landed his helicopter in this car park. All the kids including me ran from the surrounding houses to see this. I grew up here, this hotel under its various names is part of my life. It's special to me.

I've known the place for 45+ years now - of course a bit of update wouldn't go amiss, but it is what it is - cheap but safe and reliable. Coach loads of pensioners enjoy the entertainment. I support that. All good.

We were next to a rather noisy guest in the room next-door, the reception team moved us immediately which we really appreciated as we were tired after a long day travelling. At Breakfast the next morning the staff on duty were exceptionally helpful in providing breakfast for my daughter who is coeliac.

Single room As soon as I walked in I could feel the floor was not actually level which was quite off putting. Lay on the bed and that wasnt level as the floor was wonky. I know its an old hotel but the floor should be level at least.

Noisey floorboards above, not just a little noise but a noise that would wake you up from sleep. Repairs need to happen.

Great location, easy to find, sorry couldn't rate staff as it was self check in but that in itself was great.

Definitely didn't deserve 4 star rating. Old property

Terrible position on a round a bout. Couldn't cross the road outside the property

The location of the building was lovely.

But the way the interior conversion resulted in 3 different room levels was disjointed. Top level bedroom was pokey and unappealing. Disappointed also that although we had huge windows, there was no view - again because of the floor level of the interior.

Shower flooded, water rises from the drain. Beds pushed up next to each other, very small.
