The apartment was small but attractively decorated and comfortable, with a lovely view of the countryside. It was well-equipped with mugs, glasses, cutlery etc and it was really useful to have a fridge and a microwave. It felt very secure and relaxing. The host gave us some suggestions for eating locally. The pub at the end of the lane was very nice.

Hard to find at first - it's not in the exact location shown on the map. We had to phone for assistance, and it was only then that we were told that we needed a code for the gate and how to find the apartment once we were through the gate. We found the lack of privacy in the bathroom area a bit disconcerting. I'd recommend taking a torch to walk back down the lane after dark - we were there for the folk festival (a mile away), and ended up driving down every time.

Breakfast was amazing, hosts were very friendly. We had a bath in our en-suite which was a welcome bonus after a few days walking the dales way. Place was spotless. Couldn’t fault it.

The toilet was broken, I had to fill the caniayer with water for it to flush, TV did not work, the carpet was disgusting, mold in the bathroom and we were told there was no other rooms. My sister in laws bedroom had black mold on the wall (they have a three yr old toddler with them), asked for a new room - was told there wasnt any, it was only when we overheard the receptionist offering another couple an upgrade, that they made a complaint and only then were they moved (after much argument and the receptionist thought they were happy with the room when we didn't say anything) remember they told us there was not other rooms available. We paid over 100 quid and you would expect better (a lot better) in terms of the rooms (we only stayed 1 night and that was too long).

Unbelievable state of the building, it would appear that Best Western can't make up their mind whether to demolish and rebuild or completely renovate the exterior. Shame on you; beautiful location.
