The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

Beautiful setting, stunning lake views especially lovely to sit by for evening meals. Studio apartment was a really good size, and had everything we needed. Apartment, grounds and facilities all very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. The on-site shop is only very small but Aldi and Booths are just a 25 minute walk away - the road to Carnforth is very busy however and the pavement path is very small and overgrown with no safe space to cross at junctions/roundabouts so extra care needed. Bus service from the site only once an hour so plan ahead. CN Watersports who run activities on the lake were brilliant and a real highlight of the break for myself and my 9 year daughter. Beautiful relaxing setting, looking forward to visiting again.

Location was quite central to restaurants and some shopping. We chose this as we had not stayed in this part of Edinburgh before and it was close to the Haymarket railway station.

We were asked for a £100 deposit payable 14 days prior to our checkin date. Our accommodation had been paid in full and we were on a cruise when we were requested to pay a further deposit. It appears this was for any breakages or damage to the rooms.I wrote to explain that we were travelling and I did not do payments on my phone or whilst travelling and could not attend to this until we were in the UK. I found this to be particularly distressing as we were informed unless the deposit was paid the booking may be cancelled and we would not be given the necessary code to enter the premises. It seemed to me there was no flexibility on part of the managers of this property and no indication they understood our concerns. When we finally made payment and got to enter the room it became clear maintenance was required and the deposit required for breakages were to cover very inexpensive items, eg glasses, cutlery, electrical appliances. I suggest the managers of this property be aware of the stress in travelling these days and become more understanding, it appeared to me they were not inclined to take any risk in renting out their property. I felt I was a commodity rather than a valued guest. I would not stay here again and did not consider the night good value for money.

Great location, easily accessible and well located for access to the town.
Negative section of review
On the whole the property was to a good standard, however there were aspects that were run down, some of the paintwork/ furniture could do with updating. Additionally the property hadn’t been cleaned properly, some spillage/food had been left on the floor in the living area and there was a strange smell coming from the kitchenette.

The apartment was well appointed and cozy
