We stayed in the new modern wing, bed was comfortable, good lighting and room was well designed. Location couldn’t be more optimal…5 mins walk from train station and 7 mins into the City Centre, 12 mins to York Minster. Staff were friendly and helpful. Part of the York’s famous city walls was just across the road though much of it is currently closed for maintenance work. The hotel is a historical building with beautiful wood panelling and is well maintained.

Location easy walk to old town. 3 minute drive to the event I’d entered 15 drive to Compton Acres gardens. Money spent in shop & restaurant partly going to very good & important cause. Staff& complex very friendly and clean. Bedroom was very good for what we wanted.

“Didn’t like “ is too strong a fraise but I thought a bit overpriced as it is still a college. Food in restaurant you wouldn’t book if outside,but it was ok for first night. Although service very slow but you couldn’t blame front off house staff as they didn’t have enough of them. Also very limited selection.

Absolutely terrible apartment, smelled terrible of bins not taken out, dirty and not cleaned properly, stains all over the carpets, the bed was super small and VERY uncomfortable and so loud if you turn around. The flat is on the ground floor with a view of the trash and it’s surrounded by the walking pedestrian street on all sides which means you can’t open a window to get some air as it’s otherwise terribly unsafe. For two adults we were given two towels in total which meant I had no other towel to use for my hair, face etc. The location is soooo far from the centre with the bus taking 45 plus minutes with 1 service running per hour.
