The breakfast was fantastic, although a little pricey. But given that you could eat as much as you want, it was worth it. We loved the pool and hot tub but the hot tub could have been on a little longer. Staff were great and helpful. The view was ok. It was nice to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. Our dinner, again a little pricey but was delicious as we both had the steak. The hotel was very quiet and didn't get bothered with noise or anything. Had a bottle of prosecco delivered to the room which we ordered. Nice big grand hotel. Easy enough check in. We enjoyed sitting in the garden area and looking at the hotel from a different angle.

Rooms could do with an update. The curtains wouldn't shut properly. The TV was jumping and the personal coffee machine wouldn't work. The location was a bit out the way and we were tired walking to town and had to get taxis back which were a bit pricey. There could be more to choose from on the evening menu.

Checking in was a breeze. We were given an early check-in from 9am !!! For free It came with its own parking space but never used it Very secure & very good location Spacious & very clean Very good for a PLAB 2 exam stay Good facilities Has a ton of kitchen appliances & equipment

It's a bit old apartment & and it's starting to show the age Our main worry was the hot water It was never there Maybe because we are from a tropical country We couldn't bear the coldness of the water, even after turing to maximum hotwater Contacted the host, said to press a "boost" button on boiler Made no difference. Only has a washer, no dryer in the apartment The towel dryer in the bathroom is not working, and there is no other way to dry the towels The heater next to the tv is not working. Its fuse box is damaged But can manage to adequately heat the living room with other heater. Many of the lights in the living room were not working Got the idea that no one was bothered to check the apartment before letting it away Had only 2 towels

Great location near city centre, train station and with parking. Comfortable room and good food in the evening (left before breakfast). Friendly staff and we were bought extra coffee up to the room even during a busy night in the bar

A bit noisy in the late evening being right over the main bar area (to be expected staying in a city pub really). Only 2 small towels in room but Im sure they would have bought more up on request.

The entrance, reception and up to Floor 2 where they served breakfast at ‘The Terrace’ was absolutely stunning. Beautiful decor and very modern. The staff were extremely friendly.

However, we stayed on floor 4 and the rooms were very dated and 100% not worth the price we paid. The lighting was extremely poor in the room so we struggled to do our makeup on the evening. There was only 1 desk lamp and 1 single spotlight above one of the single beds. There were also no sockets near any of the beds so we couldn’t charge our phones whilst in bed. The mini fridge was placed at the bottom of one of the beds in a cupboard so it couldn’t be opened. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest either. Very disappointing room considering the price we paid per night.

The price, the breakfast, off street parking. The room at the back of the hotel was quiet, no disturbance. Good value (£39) with price of breakfast included.

Access to off street parking around the back of the hotel was along a badly pot holed back lane. However the lane is probably unadopted and is not the sole responsibility of the hotel. Ideallly though the issue needs to be addressed by some body.

I have stayed at this Hotel in the past when it was owned by the Brooke’s family. It has now been sold and is a sad reflection of its former glory yet still charges the same tariff . Lost its soul and just being let to run down .
