The welcome at reception was excellent and speedy. The room (213) was as expected for the rate with all that we needed. The residents lounge off reception was a nice quiet area to sit, drink and read the paper after a long day out at Bletchley park nearby. We didn't use in-house restaurant, so can't comment on this. The menu looked good for the usual pub food, but we fancied Thai food which was at a place 50 yds up the street. The bed was comfy, and bathroom did its job. The nights sleep was very good. The breakfast the next morning was excellent and delicious. Checkout was as simple as could be.

Location perfect, what more can one ask for. Room 7 a reasonable size but dated. The bathroom could have a hook or 2 for the bath towels or even something IN the room to hang ones towel/clothes on. Single beds, very narrow with one very uncomfortable mattress. My husband ( aged 84 yrs, it was his celebration get away ) fell out of bed the 1st night. Tea coffee, biscuits and bottled water most welcomed. TV a bonus - thanks.

Some answers above. Did not like having dogs in others rooms. 3 dogs in 2 rooms on our floor who barked whenever someone walked past the owners rooms ( in the evening ) We are dog lovers but hotels are for people, NOT for dogs. At breakfast, 2 huge dogs under their owners table on leads, but with their heads resting ON the table. Sorry, not for me. Nice selection of breakfast. We had Eggs Benedict, eggs perfect BUT sauce tasteless and not all that hot. Needs to be Brioche Rolls not hard toasted bread like .... We saw what we wanted around Hunstanton, took the bus to Wells on Sea and back and then that late afternoon, left a day early than intended.

Our room was a bit too small, there was almost no space to open the suitcases. I would appreciate a wardrobe. Okay for a short stay.

I have stayed at The Rathbone on numerous occasions and been delighted with all aspects of the hotel. However my wife and I were very disappointed on the 15th May 2024 by the size of the room that we were offered. To be honest it would be better used as a linen cupboard, and consequently the bathroom was very limited. When I raised this with staff they responded exceedingly politely and helpfully BUT assured me that there was not an alternative for that evening.

every night of my stay there were groups of children (several groups of classes) making noise and generally not making the hostel seem like a place for individual travelers. Also the room I and 3 others were in would be more suited for only 2 people.
