Our pod in the Howe of Torbeg was absolutely perfect for our needs . We were meeting old friends in Ballater for a reunion . it was in a lovely location, was clean and comfortable and the toilets and washing facilities were immaculate. We especially liked the tea shack and ,.The Snug' which were both well stocked and extremely useful.

What a great find. Lovely peaceful location and the hosts had thought of everything to make this cute Shepherds Hut feel cosy and comfortable. We were really impressed that there was such a good bathroom and nice spacious shower too,. Thank you too for the delicious scones, jam and cream on arrival. Hope to be back again.

Bed was very uncomfortable, soft mattress which had a dip in the middle. Walls made of paper, doors slamming all night long. No jacuzzi either!

The location is perfect. Just 10 mins from Glasgow queen street station.

The rooms are very minimalistic and basic, giving the vibes of a slightly more upmarket premier inn. It didn’t appear that the room had been properly checked before our stay as both windows were wide open on entering and the shower plug was hanging out. Furthermore, all the radiator caps were off and my husband had to reattach them. The room itself was really quite small as well which was surprising as we were informed we had been upgraded to a bigger room. Breakfast was enjoyable but the tomato sauce tasted horrific (definitely not Heinz) and the fruit for the continental section looked very unappetising.

Bathroom. It was too small. But I suppose value for money

Lovely staff. Lovely breakfast. Lovely views.

Awful student bedsit room right near the fire exit. Doors are so close surely that is a safety issue as if someone opens the wooden door to get out of the fire exit, they would block the exit to this room. No mirror in room or dressing table. Large pointless sofa as not facing TV. Bed is a pull down type which is terrible for the price. Ensuite is like a caravan bathroom. No washing up liquid/tea towel. Just very disappointed with this room as I saw all the others whilst open for cleaning and they looked like proper rooms. My friends room was lovely.

The Bedroom was sparse, dull and uncomfortable. A twin room with only one, poor, bedside lamp. One bed creaked loudly, both beds lumpy and uncomfortable. The bar was poorly attended, had no atmosphere and was not welcoming. This is a shame as it’s a grand building in lovely surroundings but the front line staff let it down.
