Room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was reasonably good and the selection was excellent. The bar area was nice and it was good to have enough room to meet friends who were staying there also. Bathroom was spacious and well supplied with the necessary facilities. I particularly appreciated a non-slip mat in the shower. One of the housekeeping staff who came up to our room on the second morning was excellent- very thorough and helpful.

The mattress was a bit soft for our taste. It would also have been nice to have a 2 seater sofa instead of a corner seat that was only big enough for one - there was plenty of space for it! I had to ask twice for mess on the floor near the lift to be cleaned up - it could have been a safety hazard. Also, someone had dropped some blueberries in the lift, which were difficult to see against the dark floor so it was impossible to avoid treading on them. These were cleared up but unfortunately the ones in the corners and down the door slot were not noticed. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were over-cooked even when fresh and the sausages were cheap and not very tasty. We didn't try the evening food but the menu was very restricted. I'm sure it would be possible to offer a better selection if you tried! The clothes hanging space was so cramped that the hangers did not have room to hang properly.

Really beautiful building, good price, rooms were comfortable and well equipped, bathroom was clean. Staff were very helpful, even sorted us out a couple of extra pillow late at night. Big thanks to the guy on the bar/night duty on the evening of 31st May. Can you get the adelphi in Liverpool up to this standard, please?

A bit of noise from the street out front. But nowt serious. I would have liked an alpaca in my room, but so few hotels have thus facility.

The hotel in itself was fine, i have stayed there many times before. however we had a dreadful experience and when we complained were offerd a complimentary drink an an upgrade when (presumptios) stay again

There is clearly a problem with the plumbing. We could not sleep because of creaking and clanging noises, REALLY loud and persistent. At 1am we asked to be moved, the staff were very helpful but the room we were allocated had the same problem if not actually even worse! We barely slept all night and woke up exhausted. The general manager did not acknowledge we were repeat customers, a refund was certainly the way to gain our goodwill again, a drink and an upgrade. We won't be staying again.

The host sent me a link to an admin site that I needed to complete before staying. This site charged me a further £10 admin fee that I hadn't budget for, but need to complete or lose my none refundable booking He cleaning cost was £90 for 2 nights stay, this represents 30% of the total booking fee There were binbags full of food waste stacked at the side of the property, which were attracting flies and vermin
